Welcome to Amalfi!

About Amalfi

AThe Amalfi Coast (Costiera Amalfitana) is one of the most awe-inspiring and beautiful places in all of Italy, and it sits on the northern stretch of the Gulf of Salerno where the towns of Amalfi, Positano among others line the steep and rocky coastline that overlooks the glittering Tyrrhenian Sea. Picture-perfect and as if copied directly from a postcard, each one of these charming towns and villages is visited by millions of tourists every year. There are many reasons to visit, some of the top ones are: to take in the variety of colors, explore the lay of the land and its natural contours as well as try original, local cuisine.   There is so much to see and do and much is a car, bus, or boat ride away. You can explore the ruins of Pompeii or summit the nearby volcano, Mt. Vesuvius. You could even buy a couple of ceramic products (a regional specialty) to take home. If you are adventurous, you can venture among the clouds on a hike on the Path of the Gods. You can even catch a boat from village to village or over to the island of Capri.

There are a total of 13 towns along the Amalfi Coast . Some of them are known for their beaches, others are known for their landmarks. But what is common between all Amalfi coast towns is the atmosphere. It’s the atmosphere of leisure, relaxation, shopping, and enjoyment of life.

I have to admit, this is my favorite restaurant on the Amalfi Coast. A combination of spectacular food and unbelievable food. Everything is homemade. Service is impeccable and the prices are so reasonable. If you are not staying in Conca dei Marini try to get over to this village as it is one of the most quaint towns you will find in the area. You will not be dissappointed!

We truly enjoyed our time in this quaint restaurant tucked off of the main street. Lemon trees cover the ceiling. The food, especially the pizza is amazing. This is a little bit away from the crowds and well worth it!

We proabably have mentioned this resaurant at least three times on this page. It is by far one of the best in Positano, let alone the Amalfi Coast. It does book up so reservations are suggested. Just below this amazing vew are terraces of a farm where items are used for the freshest meal. They even offer a cooking class. This is a family run Tratoria that spans over three incredible terraces. If you are in the area, do not miss it. Let Paolo, from Ballantonio Limo Service, book it for you!

The passion comes through in this breathtaking restaurant with unforgettable views. It is rated 5 stars on Tripadvisor so that should provide a clue. The owner also has vacation properties near Fuore and Conca dei Marini, so you should check them out- You will see one of the properties on a later slide.

We cannot recommend the fishing village of Nerano enough! it really is a best kept secret. It is a little out of the way on the Sorrento coast but the amazing thing is that if you call ahead a boat will pick you up from the Amalfi Coast and escort you to the restaurant. This was one of our favorite restaurants on our last trip to Amalfi. Some of the best seafood and pasta that we have ever eaten as well as a lively waiter named Franco that had us all dancing on chairs.

Without a doubt if you do anything on the Amalfi coast, you should hire a boat for 1/2 day or full day. Most options include a trip to Capri and back or along the Amalfi coast. We suggest private option, if you can swing it, but that is part of the planning process. There are many options along the coast and out of Sorrento, but do consider booking ahead for the best price and experience. Out of Sorrento, Feeling Italy has some very affordable options, especially to Capri. If you are in Amalfi area, Positano Boat is a great option.

Without a doubt, this is the best experience you will have in Amalfi. Do not hesitate...book Paolo for the day. This will be a life changing experience as Paolo knows the best of the best places to visit in Amalfi and the best restaurants in the area. It is worth every penny, We know this because everyone we have referred to Paolo has raved about the service and experience .

We looked for hours to find an affordable option with a wonderful view, not too far from major sites. We found it! the owners are incredible people with a love for hospitality. They own a local restaurant Melchio (you will find on another slide). Ideally for two but can sleep 4 in the town of Conca dei Marini nestled between Amalfi and Positano. Consider this! It will be worth it.

Conca dei Marini is a hidden gem. It is situated right between Amalfi and Positano which makes it a great location. You will experience an authentic village with locals and amazing shops and restaurants. Just get the bus routes from your hosts. This amazing property sits right on the cliffs. We were able to view the sunrise every morning from the 2 balconies. This is by far, our favorite place to stay in the Amalfi Coast.

This stunning villa, overlooking the sea, is a wonderful respite for an incredible trip. It is close to many attractions and the incredible beach. This is a great option for a family or even just two.
