About Wicklow
Wicklow is the county town of County Wicklow in Ireland. It is located south of Dublin on the east coast of the island. Wicklow is part of what is now known as the “Ancient East”. This runs just north of Dublin down to the southern coast and stretching over to Cork. It is the site of many famous movies and series including Vikings, P.S. I Love You, The Count of Monte Cristo, and The Tudors. The environment is perfect for filming.
The town is to the east of the M11 route between Dublin and Wexford, so it is easy to get to the area for a day trip or a few days. The Lakes and mountains offer a peaceful respite.

We usually recommend a B&B or Guest House but in this case, a hotel will due! Sometimes there are hotels that need to be visited. This is one of them. This hotel is part of the palace. Although almost $400 per night, you can manage to get a room for 50K Marriott points. We suggest looking into this ahead of time and building up the points for this splurge. Marriott has a credit card with bonus points if you do not find yourself traveling enough to build up the points. If you plan ahead it will allow you to experience this amazing beauty.
